ABOUT

me_mediumHello—
My name is Michael Gore, and here is a little bit about my background. I have been doing some type of art throughout my entire life, having dabbled in all types of mediums, including drawing, painting, sculpture and photography.

I initially started down a career path as a commercial printer by getting my start at a PIP Printing quick print shop. In 1988 I moved from there to an AlphaGraphics, it was there that my initiation in the realm of digital and the field of graphic design began.

I started with stat cameras, image setters and the like. However they had the little Classic Macs (Macintosh Plus or Macintosh SE, don’t recall for sure) for customer use, and I would tool around on them after hours. I discovered a wonderful little application called MacPaint, and it was with that I made my first digital drawing. Now I have been on all sides of the printing process, from prepress to press to finishing, and I enjoyed it very much. But this I loved. I was hooked. I dove in headfirst and have not looked back since.

As a result I have been in the graphic design field for over 20 years, and the advertising & marketing industry for nearly 10 years of that. But my passion is my love of design, technology and art, not of advertising.

So this site will be a mixture of my professional work, technology, information, tips and tricks (eventually) and whatever else I might find interesting that is relevant. I welcome any comments concerning the site, my work or anything else.
